between the gesture
and the form
Observation first — the eye traces shapes and edges; the hand learns their rhythm.

The impulse of making gathers its charge before the technique emerges.

Sketching to understand — a slow translation of memory into vision where gesture finds the beginning of a design.

Choosing is a part of making — each motif breathes its space in a pattern.

Tactile impressions — softness of materials meets the sharpness of tools; the hand’s intention guides the line.

Vibrance and texture — colour awakens the working space, a dialogue begins between pigment, media, tools and surface.

Pressure becomes language — the body’s energy translates strength into trace.

In release, the imprint takes form — what was pressure becomes presence; image and intention part, each carrying something of the other.

Fabric and paper — my two favourite surfaces of conversation. They absorb or reflect; each speaks its imprint in its own way.

Through sequence and order, the mind finds a place to rest — choas becomes stillness and clarity unfolds through motion.

Layers invite depth — something rests beneath, something else appears on the surface. The top holds the traces of the bottom; you might listen, see anew or refine — a print is a threshold.
